Re NYC voting, it is basically a joke. There was little privacy in filling out the form, and ZERO privacy in using the scanner: poll workers had full view of your vote. Also, my polling place had three scanners, one of which was down when I went in at 11am. And I heard that at the polling place nearby, one of only two scanners went down, creating a huge line.

The only saving element (if you can call it that) was that, at least at my polling place, poll workers were knowledgeable, helpful and courteous.

Sadly, that does not make up for the lack of privacy – or the fact that I have no idea whether my vote was actually counted…

    Peace.
