It sounds like Dr Al-Arian made a big mistake with his plea bargin, which has led to his five year sentence. The article does not say how much of this sentence he has already served
in the course of what sounds like a very long trail, or why he is on hunger strike.
So Dr Al-A admits to helping jihadists with ‘immigration problems’ and helping their widows and orphans. What is he a doctor of, I wonder? He is obviously a clever man and being as I always am a bit suspicious of clever fellows, I just wonder if he is not using the media to make a case above and beyond what it should be. Why did he make the plea bargin to avoid a second trail, and what is he on hunger strike for, and how much time is actually left for him to serve? Let us have those answers before we jump to any conclusions.
