Here is an in depth article by Robert Fisk of the Independent examining this sinister phenomenon. Even understating their case the Indie article clearly shows the horrifying number of dead and wounded, mostly civilians, who have been killed by this method. This is a thought provoking article, as ever with Fisk, and worth the read.
