‘The darkest moment in Palestinian history’

The recent infighting among Palestinian factions, air strikes by Israel on Gaza, one of the world’s most miserably poor places, and a hail of rockets from there on Israel, have poisoned the current World Economic Forum On The Middle East. The prospect of a Palestinian civil war or something even worse — a “Mogadishu syndrome,” as the Palestinian Authority’s Saeb Erekat called it — was the single most damaging recent development. “What happened is the darkest moment in Palestinian history,” he said. “I am ashamed.”…BS
