NYT Guest Op-Ed (Turow): Still Guilty After All These Years

“Will statutes of limitations fall prey to DNA technology?”

Turow notes that a technology normally used in the defense (i.e., to exonerate) is now being used for the opposite: to prove guilt long after the crime has been committed – and the statute of limitations has expired. If so, a dangerous precedent may be set.
