“I Wait for You” a song for now

Here is a song I have just recorded that came to me without warning, though warning is what its theme is all about. After I wrote it I googled the title, and found that a nun, Josefa Menendez, had written a book about her apparitions of Christ, entitled “I Wait for You”. I bought the excerpt from the book, which is described as Jesus’ Lament Over Man’s Indifference, and was surprised to find that his language was very modern, and much more in the form we use now, than the form used in 1922, when she wrote it. She says he spoke “And you, dear souls, why this coldness and indifference on your part?….Do I not know that family cares…household concerns…and the requirements of your position in life…make continual calls upon you?…He goes on to talk about the infidelity of the priesthood and how wounded he still feels.

These are the words to my song.

Complication by World decree
To maintain an old hierarchy,
Distractions help us forget to see our Nature.

As bombs rain down around a child
What feelings can be reconciled,
When everything worthwhile
Subject to capture.

I have no control
You direct my soul
Wisdom I get from you
Love’s the only truth.

So I wait for you
The vision you lead me to
The reason you made me for
Decision is really yours.

The talk’s about democracy
While the sea’s filled with mercury,
Will it be hard to breathe in the future.
When the infinite becomes too full
A swollen lake turns to a pool
A throne becomes a stool
The Unseen Factor

I have no control
You direct my soul
Wisdom I get from you
Love’s the only Truth

So I wait for you
The vision you lead me to
The reason you made me for
Decision is really yours.

Peace and Love
