This should not be surprising, given how many Nazis the U.S. “repatriated” here for both military and intelligence reasons. Even setting aside von Braun, a great many Nazi scientists and SS/gestapo members were brought here. Indeed, they represented an entire “cottage industry” within what became the MIC.
