Time to be honest about Afghanistan – Rory Stewart, FT
We are in an unwinnable situation and should face up to that. Afghanistan is going to be a mess for decades. We should pull out but keep the option of redressing excessively horrible behaviour by the Taliban or whoever by maintaining air and drone capabilities in the vicinity.
