Revolution in Egypt .. Middle East cont (4) .. End Game
organized Mubarek factions in plainclothes are attacking people with, um, camels, whips, horses, other random shit in Tahir Sq and elsewhere .. Mubarek thinks that if he can sow enough chaos then the protesters will go home .. i don’t think he has the numbers or the muscle, esp if the military stays neutral, which is the biggest question at this point .. Firedoglake reports “Tear gas has just been fired into the crowd, apparently by the army, at the front line of the battle, between the two groups of fighters” .. Ben Wedemen of CNN tweeted “they are employees of National Petroleum Company ordered to demonstrate for Mubarak” .. Siun at Firedoglake has updates .. White House “condemns violence” blah blah blah but you know who they’re really rooting for .. after Obama’s brief speech when he said “an orderly transition must be meaningful, peaceful and it must begin now”, some people were asking him to define “now” .. Democracy Now had Noam Chomsky on today’s show and he said “This is the most remarkable regional uprising that I can remember” .. if the protesters can own the streets after this latest volley i think the regime is toast – mab .. watch the Al Jazeera live feed
