Although the intersection of politics and religion is admittedly fraught with complications – and religion has, at various points – insinuated itself far too directly (and badly) into politics – this is even more of a “tempest in a teapot” than the tea party movement. It is a cult that will never get very far off the ground because it is ultimately neither a Catholic nor a Protestant movement, but rather one that seeks to gull those from both into a small, overly radical (for both) tent.
