This surprises me because it is not in the economic interest of cable and satellite companies to do this. Given the high ratings of MSNBC – which means more revenue for the hosting cable or satellite company – it would seem self-sabotaging, especially given that no media company has been immune to the economic downturn: ALL of them are losing money, including cable and satellite providers.

I would want to see alot more support for this claim before I am going to believe that the corporate heads of any – much less all – of the cable and satellite companies are (i) conservatives who would WANT to squelch MSNBC, and/or (ii) prepared to deliberately take yet another hit to their bottom lines in such a poor economic climate.

    Peace.
