As I noted in reply to another of Michael’s posts on this issue, I am surprised that we have not heard one word from Obama on whether he would be willing to undo some of the damage that Bush has done in this regard: e.g., executive orders, signing statements, riders to bills, etc. While I am pleased that Obama tackled the Supreme Court question in the final debate, I think it is critical that we know his position here. Certainly we can assume what McCain’s position is. But it may be that once Obama is elected, there needs to be a movement to bring this issue to his attention in a big way.
