The article calls Israel ‘the occupying power’with ‘an obligation to guarantee the welfare of the civilian population in Gaza’, then later says ‘In charge of an open-air prison (ie: Gaza), Hamas has refused to surrender to Israeli diktats’.

So Hamas make rocket attackes and are in charge, but Irael is responsible for the civilian population, not Hamas.
However out of proportion Israel’s response to these rocket attacks may be, does it not occur to the reader that if Hamas were to stop the rocket attacks then supplies would be allowed in and a raprochment could be sought.
But the writer goes on to describe ‘an interminable peace process that will give Israel the time it needs to annex yet more of the territory.’
So rockets over the fence, according to this writer, are the only way forward. Such is the way the inhabitants of Gaza are being used by Hamas in an anti-Israeli jihad. Of course, they should flee to Egypt if they get the chance and give Hamas nothing to hide behind.
It beggars the mind to think that the Palastinians cannot see that to endorse a party that actively conspires towards the absolute destruction of the Israeli State can only lead to untold misery and suffering on both sides.
Israel may take what it can, but Hamas wants nothing but it all. Hamas is a mad dog and I ask you, how do you deal with such a creature?
