Nelson is one of an increasing number of celebs who have either joined or tacitly support the 9/11 truth movement. Most notable among these are Charlie Sheen (whose family is arguably more savvy about conspiracy theories than most), Rosie O’Donnell (an outspoken supporter of the movement), Christine Ebersole (an active member of the movement), Ed Begley (another active member), Ed Asner (an outspoken critic of the “official story”), Tom Delonge of Blink 182 (another outspoken critic of the “official story”), Daniel Sunjata (who recently joined the movement).

Now some might ask: Who cares? Why should we care what a celebrity thinks? That is a legitimate question. However, entertainment celebs (particularly music and film) have historically been at the forefront of social and other movements, from civil rights to anti-nuke, from the environment to AIDS. And while their opinions may not “matter” more than anyone else’s, it is critical to any movement that those with a larger “media” platform use that platform to bring attention to the issue. And with this particular issue, it takes an enormous amount of courage to come out publicly, and risk the ridicule (and possible adverse effect on one’s career) that is sure to follow.

So bravo, Willie. It’s really nice to have you with us.

    Peace.
