One Response to “NYT Op-Ed (Herbert): Questions for the Clintons”

Like so many others, Herbert misses a critical point. The “game” of politics IS often played “dirty”; whether we like it or not, that is its nature. The GOP is not suddenly going to “play nice in the sandbox.”

In this regard, if Obama bristles so quickly at the relatively minor “attacks” of members of his OWN party, what makes anyone think he will be able to withstand what is certain to be a blistering, withering, negative GOP campaign against him if he is the nominee?

As Hillary correctly notes, the GOP has thrown everything it can at her, and she is “still standing.” All of her skeletons have long since been dragged out of the closet and pummeled into the mud ad nauseam; there is nothing the GOP can use against her anymore in this regard.

Yet we simply don’t know what skeletons may yet lurk in Obama’s closet – any and all of which the GOP is certain to use to its advantage. And again, if Obama cannot even handle the minimal schoolyard bullying of the Clintons, how is he going to handle the 800-lb gorilla tactics of the right wing?

    Peace.
