Bush’s annoyance at Congress for questioning his authority to continue the war in Iraq was part of a grand thousand year tradition: leaders tend to grab more and more personal power until at some point, legislatures decide enough is enough and clip the royal wings. It is a story that goes back at least to the time of the Magna Carta, and it is elegantly reviewed here…BS
