Musharraf’s Stale Promises

Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf has been openly allowing the Taliban to re-form and take control of the “lawless Western Provinces”. A recent Congressional initiative (which was defeated by Assistant Secretary of State John Gastright) attempted to put a condition on US support to the Pakistani military: bucks for a good faith effort to go after those guys. This article lays out the reasons why that issue should be revisited, and why it was not such a bad idea after all…BS
