In House, Democrats vow aggressive agenda

For the first time in twelve years, Democrats will control the House of Representatives, and Nancy Pelosi will be our first female Speaker of House, selecting which bills get considered and voted upon in committees and on the floor. The Democrats’ gains defy Tip O’Neill’s assertion that “All politics is local”: this year local races clearly reflected national concerns, a loud and decisive vote of no confidence for the Bush White House and the Republican Congress it used like a power tool. It is a bright new day, full of new hope for our deeply troubled country…BS
