My first post!

Hello tribe brothers and sisters!

My name is Anthony D’Amato, and I’m proud to call myself a bloggin’ newbie. Right on!

I grew up with many older friends of mine leaving the country to tour Europe (Germany, Italy, etc.) with the Broadway Musical Company, and I recently directed a regional production in Bordentown, New Jersey. Stuart Duncan, a producer of the original “Godspell” and now theatre reviewer for TIMEOFF Publications, called my work “…the closest production to Broadway as anyone in years…”.

I am happy to announce that I will again be directing Hair, opening in September at the 1400 seat Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ. We have yet to hold auditions, and the buzz for this New Jersey revival is already so wild.

Hair is truly a blessing. I have to add that, even though I’ve toured the country and continue to work professionally, I will only be celebrating my 22nd birthday in July.

I am looking forward to joining this family and keeping in contact through this blog!

~Anthony

    where is red bank>?
    best of luck again
also anthony my advice is dont be neurotic
eg feverish adherance to an ” original production ” that you didnt see?
you have to bring to it what you can bring to it
    ?
that being 22 you will bring something special to the piece of your time and generation

I promise I keep it SO fresh, and bring a LOT of my own timing and energy to it. It’s a goal of mine as a director… I wouldn’t have gotten the gig! Haha. Thanks for the note!
