1968? I wasn’t aware that this tactic was EVER abandoned. I personally saw it used in DC at an antiwar rally in 1970, at a CD action in Groton CT in 1978, and at various rallies and protests since then, straight thru the RNC in NYC.

LOL. I thought it might be interesting to add that the 1970 incident was also the first time I ever experienced tear gas (I was 12), which was used as a result of the APs actions.
