Free to be Al Gore
By E. J. Dionne | Tuesday, May 22, 3007 | The Washington Post
Al Gore’s new book, “The Assault on Reason”, will be released later today. It is an up-front attack on media bias and the way the American public has been duped into accepting propaganda as news, slander as discourse and spin as fact. Among the hopeful spots are the Internet, where groups like this one have kept alive political debate. One of Gore’s soft-pedaled messages is about the disastrous Florida recount of 2000, when (in Dionne’s words) “…Gore suffered through an extreme injustice with great dignity. His revenge is to have been right about a lot of things: right about the power of the Internet, right about global warming and right about Iraq.”…BS
