A war the public will end

A majority of Americans thinks that the Iraq War was a mistake, is being handled abysmally, and should end as soon as possible. Their will is currently being blocked by a President in denial, and by Congress’s failure to muster enough votes to override the recent Presidential veto. But political analyst David Broder reminds us of recent history: Dwight Eisenhower was elected on his promise to end the Korean War. Nixon was elected promising to get is out of Vietnam. And George Bush’s successor will almost certainly be elected on a promise to get us out of the mess in Iraq…BS
