Diplomacy, Not War, with Iran (Bill Richardson)
By Bill Richardson | Saturday, February 24, 2007 | The Washington Post
New Mexico Governor, Presidential Candidate, former UN Ambassador, former Secretary of the US Department of Energy and former Congressman Bill Richardson has won his spurs the hard way. He has the hands-on experience, the courage and the eloquence to speak his convictions without sounding like a focus group wrote his lines. Personally, I think he is more electable than either Obama or Clinton, plus, as a Hispanic American, he would be yet another ethnic group pioneer. Here he takes on the saber-rattling by the Bush Administration toward Iran forecefully and elegantly. One sentence that summarizes nicely: “Iran’s nuclear program is a threat to peace, but it also presents an opportunity to start rebuilding America’s credibility and leadership, which have been weakened by six years of incompetence.”…BS
