Excellent, short piece by Robert Kuttner of The American Prospect on the issues to follow in Congress this next month. It ends on a hopeful note:
“The jockeying is likely to be fierce before the election, and even more intense afterward if Republicans, as expected, lose seats. Ironically, the bigger the Republicans’ election loss and more sweeping the repudiation, the more desperate will be lame ducks’ last hurrah.
If Democrats and Republican moderates can hold the line for a few more months, the nation will be spared bad legislation. We might even look forward, in the next Congress, to the bipartisan approach to thorny national challenges that was promised back in 2000 by a candidate named Bush.”

…very fierce indeed. No chance for bipartisan collaboration but maybe the ‘bigger’ moderates and Repubs will indeed support the Dems initiatives, especially with all the truth telling going on lately with the Neo’s.
As far as I see it; these are criminals we are dealing with and their heaped up baloney is an act for the November elections-simply that. They are still attached, went for the ride, OK’ed the war and the continued OCCUPATION!
