I wonder about biofuels. Mainly, I wonder about the agricultural side of it and what doesn’t get to grow in order that biofuel plants do and also what forests get chopped down to provide additional planting areas.
I would like to have heard more from the Republican who said “What is being sold as green fuel just doesn’t pencil out.” but on balance I am happy that the volume of biofuel production has doubled in the last year and that there is a $16 billion dollar package to subsidise the industry’s growth.
Every gallon of oil that has a substitute is a plus in my book.
