Creative and funny, perhaps. But also unnecessarily cynical and, hypocritically, inccurate in some regards. For example, the ICC has 120 member states, and 32 others that have signed but not ratified the Rome Statute. Investigations by the ICC are begun when a member state REQUESTS it. So while it is true that the seven current ICC investigations are all with respect to African nations, that is because those nations REQUESTED the investigations – NOT because (as this video suggests) the ICC goes after only “black nations.”

However decreased the LRA’s power may be, and however horrible the police and armies of Uganda and Congo might also be, Kony is a war criminal who deserves to be caught and tried. To make light of this is simply absurd.

I think you are being a tad myopic here. Certainly our gov’t has given us little reason to trust it. But to suggest that oil is “end of story” would seem overly cynical, to say nothing of insupportable.

    Peace.

here’s an assignment .. count up all the warlords/military leaders from the past 25 years who’ve used child soldiers and/or are guilty of other horrendous atrocities, then count how many have been elevated to media villain status, then count how many of them were supported by our gov’t .. i’ll bet you lots of $$ there’s no crossover between the villains and the US gov’t supported .. tho you might find someone who got elevated to media villain after pissing us off
