Today is Buy Nothing Day

While some people get up before dawn to stand in line and fight for retail “bargains” advertised days before, those who observe “Buy Nothing Day” often enjoy a peaceful day with family and friends. They steer clear of the shopping mayhem for just one day in the hope that others will see the devastation that mindless shopping has done to our fragile environment as well as to our economy
