There are two schools of thought re the potential election of TP candidates.
On the one hand, some suggest that the newly elected TPers will get to Congress and start beating at the GOP leadership tenaciously until the latter agrees to include some of the TPs favored policies.
On the other hand, some suggest that, since there will so few TPers, and the GOP leadership is not likely to want them running ramshod, the TPers will have little real power to affect policy.
I side a bit more with the latter position. Yes, some in the GOP are welcoming the TPers. But not all. And the leadership is far too entrenched (i.e., love their positions of power) to allow some new young upstarts to affect, much less control, policy.
We’ll see.
