Dave Zirin on the US World Cup Team
after the US beat Algeria Zirin wrote After Donovan’s Goal: Joy or Jingoism? when he overheard a guy on a DC sports radio show say “When I think of Algeria, all I think about are terrorists and Abbott and Costello movies” (referring of course to France’s long time occupation of Algeria and the, um, “terrorists” who fought back).
