Obama must not allow himself to be rushed.
This President inherited an uniquely complicated set of problems both domestically and internationally, most of them unfixeable or at the best barely manageable. Thank God he does not follow the Bush/Cheney poilicy of shooting first and asking questions later or subscribing to their over simplified, manichean view of the world. Personally I think he has done pretty well with the hand he was dealt.
One despairs at that huge mass of Americans, who seem to believe that the world owes them instant gratification/end to their perceived woes and that if they cannot obtain it the President is to blame. Honestly – do they really think that McCain/Palin would be doing any better?
Herebelow a good article from Philp Stevens in today’s FT.
