“…Can the people of this country expect those in power to identify with their situations? To imagine what it feels like – not only to stand accused before a judge, but to be unexpectedly summoned to the boss’s office, or to forego a breast exam because of its cost, or to be deported without your child, or to be arrested by a police officer in your own living room? Since when is it wrong to want one’s own experience and feelings to be understood, or at least acknowledged, by those in charge?….”….BS
