Poem from Tibet to China :)
Poem: Light Our Fire
Â
By Tsoltim N. Shakabpa
Hey China
Light our fire
Light our ire
Give us a reason to revolt
Hey China
Light our fire
Inflame our fury
Give us a reason to be furious
Don’t sweeten us
With your red envelopes
Filled with wads of Yuan and Dollars
And fancy trains that supposedly carry tourists
Don’t create false images
With monks praying in monasteries
Nomads enjoying living in tiny high rise apartments
And children in picturesque poses studying Tibetan language
Hey China
Light our fire
Wine, dine our envoys and stall the negotiations
Give us a reason to end the fruitless negotiations
Hey China
Light our fire
Try destroying our culture
Give us a reason to eradicate communism
Hey China
The more you anger us
The more determined we become
And the more ambitious
Hey China
The more you squeeze us
The more we inflate
And the more we’ll be in your ugly face
Hey China
The more you torture us
The louder we’ll scream
And let the world know how mean and cruel you are
And China
The longer you occupy our country
The more violent we become
And the more sorry you’ll be
So China
If you wish not to live in peace
Continue to light our fire
And inflame our pure desire
