It is worth noting that Biden was among the first to admit his mistake in voting for the Iraq War resolution (he even beat out Edwards). As for the bankruptcy bill, while it is certainly “regressive,” it is hardly “one of the most regressive” bills that came before Congress during Bush’s two terms, others (even more regressive) of which Biden did not vote for.

    Peace.

its part of a larger pattern that many Dems have of talking populist out of one side of their mouth and being, um, whores to corporate interests with the other .. Biden isn’t the worst of the bunch but as the Senator from tax haven Delaware he’s pretty bad.

    Here’s a Democracy Now news clip re Nader’s reaction…

Nader Describes Biden as the “MasterCard Senator”

Independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader described Biden as the MasterCard Senator. One of Biden’s biggest corporate backers is the Delaware-based credit card company MBNA. Biden was the key architect of the 2005 bankruptcy law which made it harder for consumers to file for bankruptcy protection. At the time, Biden’s son was working as a consultant to MBNA. Nader also criticized Biden for helping to create the modern drug war by pushing the 1986 Anti-Drug Abuse Act.
