I like the fact that she calls the preent day culture, ‘the culture of distraction’.
Posted on 18-Feb-08 at 2:04 am | PermalinkWhat does not work so well is the comparison between Lincoln and Clinton. With Lincoln’s slavery debates, it was before a Presidential campaign, with Clinton’s Health Care package, it was towards the end of his second term of office, and the mistake most precribed to him is not discussing it with the Insurance Industry, rather then with the public.
But nevertheless, in this election year the underlying point is a good one. Why arn’t these guys laying out their policies? Why aren’t they talking about matters of substance?
It’s a good show so far, but that is what it is, an entertainment, a distraction, when it should be an examination.
