yeah kunstler is a tad extreme, though i like a lot of his ideas. in 100 years we’ll probably have about 40% of what he predicts…i think cars – specifically electric cars – will be around for a long time.. i think there definitely needs to be more of a balance than what we have now — stopping suburban sprawl is number one; investing more in light rail and street cars..public transpo in general; encouraging people to live within walking distance of main street..my 2c
