The situation in Iraq is unprecendented, and we should be moving ahead thoughtfully. One aspect is very clear: unless we threaten the Maliki administration in a believeable way with the imminent withdrawal of US troops, the Iraqi Army has no motive to work toward national unification, the end of the current civil war and an equitable form of security for all ethnic groups – rather than doing what they are doing now: persecuting the Sunnis…BS
