A thrilling piece that exposes the many parellels between Vietnam and Iraq. The writer, Robert G. Kaiser, should know: he is Associate Editor of the Washington Post and he covered the Vietnam War including two tours as a war correspondent there from 1969 through 1970. He sees clearly the patterns of US behavior that make the Iraq War such a spooky and depressing replay of Vietnam. Not to mention a horrifying demonstration of bare-fanged racism, ignorance and utter hubris. It’s as if our government has learned absolutely nothing from Vietnam…BS
