Days late, dollars short

The minimum wage bills that are sure to come forth in a Democrat-controlled Congress have a long history. The last raise was 10 years ago, under Bill Clinton, early in his first term (that is, before his party lost control of Congress to the Republicans via Gingrich et al’s historic ‘Contract With America’). Jackson reviews that history and the litter of the old bitter battles, and gazes in to his crystal ball about what is coming. You can tell from the title what he expects. The striking aspect of this essay is the way it points out the symbolic value of the minimum wage in the widening gap between the ultra rich and the rest of us…BS
