A misguided faith in force
By H.D.S. Greenway | Tuesday, November 7, 2006 | The Boston Globe
A very original and refreshing take on the use of military might in the last century and this one, comparing the disastrous invasion of Suez 50 years ago, the last gasp of British and French global power, to the Iraq War of today. The article reviews the newly published book by Martin Woollacott titled “After Suez, Adrift in the American Century.” I hope one of us on this blog has a chance to read it and review it for the Book Reviews section here. It sounds like a marvelous and fascinating read for the history freaks among us…BS
