You sharp eyed CIVIC readers probably already spotted the fact that this piece in the Boston Globe (owned by the New York Times Company, arch-rival of the Washington Post Company) is from a political analyst who works for the Washington Post, Dan Balz. Frankly, that’s why I am posting it: when an article is of such interest that a head-to-head rival newspaper PAYS to print it on their own pages, it is almost always an exceptional read.
