NYT: As Investors Covet Ethanol, Farmers Resist

Despite increasing offers – some in the hundreds of millions of dollars – to convert parts of farmland to create factories, corn farmers are holding out, preferring to keep a traditional life despite the hardships and uncertainties.

    problem with Ethanol is in order to produce it on an industrial scale you need .. um .. OIL!..in the form of petro-chemical fertilizers

    this whole Ethanol phase is very short-sighted .. typically myopic
