Highly recommended magazine reading…
The always wonderful Harper’s Magazine does not yet have an online edition (they expect to have one within 3-4 months). However, there are three worthwhile articles in their current (November) issue.
“Barack Omaba Inc.: The Birth of a Washinton Machine” looks at the dangers of potential hypocrisy that confront the senator as he prepares for a possible presidential run.
“The Kids Are Far Right: Hippie hunting, bunny bashing, and the new conservatism” looks at the Young America’s Foundation, which sponsored the “National Conservative Students Conference” in DC in July.
“It Morning in Nevada: On the campaign trail in post-Bush America” looks at the campaign of gubernatorial candidate Senator Dina Titus. Not simply a look at real “on the ground” campaigning, the article is among the best-written articles, stylistically, that I have ever read on politics.
