Fascinating read from Buy Blue/Daily Kos on the effects of corporatization of food…
The anti-fructose argument revolves around a hormone called leptin that tells your body you are full. Apparently sugar triggers leptin production, fructose does not…it’s estimated that Archer Daniels has between 1/3 and 1/2 of all of the HFCS sold in the US.
And that’s why people in other countries are getting fat too … they’re eating all our processed foods. – MAB

HFCS is not only bad for your body, it is also bad for your brain. Studies have shown that it can trigger headaches in migraine or cluster headaches sufferers by inflaming the membranes of various parts of the brain.
As a former cluster sufferer, I have found that products that are particularly high in HFCS (especially bottled/canned tea and juice) can still trigger headaches for me, so I avoid them like the plague.
As an aside, didn’t Morgan Spurlock address HFCS in part of “Super Size Me?”
Peace.
