Philadelphia alert: U. Penn Teach-In on Iraq, Sept. 19-21

From the Penn Faculty and Staff against War in Iraq:

More than three years after the Fall of Baghdad, the US continues to occupy Iraq, with devastating consequences for both Iraq and the US. The occupation continues even though (according to recent polls) 61% of Americans and 85% of Iraqis wish to end it. Rather than promote an open exchange of information, this most secretive of US administrations has ignored, trivialized, and demonized dissent. But the current election season gives us the opportunity to raise the Occupation of Iraq as a significant issue for serious discussion in the public sphere.

Penn Faculty and Staff Against War on Iraq has therefore organized a campus Teach-In on the Occupation, scheduled for Tuesday, September 19 through Thursday, September 21.

There will be guest speakers, relevant films, talks by faculty members, and a series of smaller seminars. Anyone in the Philadelphia area with an interest is welcome…BS
