I have to agree that the show does not need to be
revised to be "current." Audiences aren't dumb - they
will get the parallels between Vietnam and Iraq. A
creative director will be able to bring them out even
more, which the script as is.

That being said, if Jim is adding some of the cut
material back in (it seemed to elude to that in the
article) that may be cool. There are some great scence
in the "pocket book" version of the script. 

But it does not need to be "modernized" - it's
relevant as is!
