Hey Tioga.. Thanks and yeah It was cool meeting you as well.. But again.. It was like, Hey this is so and so and than a short chat and then onward to others, or to take pictures... I do the same thing when I go to concerts..A band I like will come to town and instead of getting a ticket, and watching the entire show.. I get a photo pass and shoot the show.. atleast the first three songs, and then is the whole hub bub of getting my camara to my car and then back in to the venue and find my seat.. and by then the show is half over.. But.. I do have the memories on my wall and in my photo books.. But sometimes I do wonder what I am missing.. like I will be shooting a guitar player, (looking through my veiwfinder, lining him up, trying to get the weight in the right places, waiting for the good lighting...and I wonder as I wait.. Should I be shooting the singer right now? Is he in good light or about to do some David Lee Roth mid air split from the drum riser? ) It's almost like
 a case
of tunnel vision... BUt.. I do it cause I love it.. and one day I will be an old man in a nursing home somewhere with my shoebox of memories.. (wow.. after I wrote that last line.. I sat here and reflected a little.. It's pretty sad that in our last years.. that is about what our lives come down to.. atleast to the world that is running around us.. How many brilliant minds and hearts are in our nursing homes today, just rotting away? Seeing a visiter every other week or so.. Doctors and Nurses treating you like a number.. and when you are gone and the relitives come in and take that rocking chair and the hand knitted afagan away.. an old shoe box of photographs.. that meant so much to you, are sifted through, the bulk of which are tossed into a dumpster.... Sorry.. My mind is working overtime.. HA ha ... Anyway... JIM

For the very reasons you mentioned, I refrained from bringing a camera to shoot pictures or a book for folks to sign. I wanted to simply enjoy the moment as much as possible. You know, Be Here Now, and all that jazz. After all, it WAS a Be-In!

But that's why all the more I appreciate the efforts of all (like you) who DID take the extra effort to take photographs and then to post them on the MB-HAIR List.

Thanks for capturing the moment(s).

OK.. So I thought I had this all figured out [ ... ]

So I abandoned getting signatures and started shooting the happenings. This is
both good and bad.. The bad is that there were many people I did not get a
chance to meet, [ ... ] but I started treating it like work [ ... ] It's hard too totally enjoy an
evening when you are veiwing it through the veiwfinder of
your camara.. But the end result is always nice.. because while memories fade..
photos typically stay around a bit longer and help to jog memories back. [ ... ]
