This short missive is from from FTCR. Below is pasted my letter to the L.A.
Times. Perhaps you will be inspired to write also! --Mha Atma

Yesterday the LA Times editorial board -- which has traditonally defended
the rights of the little guy -- called for eliminating the filibuster in
the US Senate. The filibuster is the tool of minorities of all sort when
they have to confront the tyranny of an arrogant majority. If you want to
know the roots of the problem at the newspaper, read Jamie Court's Sunday
commentary in the Times criticizing the paper's editorial direction for
trying too hard to "turn heads at East Coast power centers" rather than
represent the West.

Read Court's "Outside The Tent" column at

If you want to let the Times know how you feel about the commentary or the
newspaper's direction, please email a letter to the editor to:

Dear Editor:

We were stunned and disappointed at your editorial support for ending
the Senate's ability to filibuster. The filibuster is a time-tested Senate
rule that is a crucial check against abuse of power by the majority
party. Today, the Republican Party controls every branch of
government and uses their power ruthlessly and without compromise,
despite the fact that they are supported by only slightly more than 50
percent of the American people. Now, more than ever, the filibuster is
needed to allow the minority party to fairly represent its consituency
and to temper the radical excesses of the majority as they attempt to
put extremist judges into lifetime positions on our highest courts.

Sincerely,
