The Fool

Even in Hollywood, where the outrageous is commonplace and the beautiful is ever-present and often distorted, the Aquarius Theatre, HAIR's Los Angeles home startles theatre-goers and passers-by alike with its freshness and originality.  Designed and executed by Seemon, Marajke, Barry and Josje who comprise The Fool, this, the largest mural in the world, has been painted on the sides and roof of the theatre.

Tom Smothers

"Hair represented to me the same kind of thing we were trying to do in television.  It was daring.  It was different.  It was a change.  It conveyed a viewpoint of the flower generation, their feelings of alienation, their resentment of a war they didn't understand, things we've tried to say on the show much more lightly."
