MICHAEL BUTLER
presents

A "HAIR" Raising Experience

HAIR, the musical that captures the 1960s spirit of the 'be-in'--in life, in happiness, in love--gives three local AIDS-service organizations "A HAIR RAISING EXPERIENCE" presented by Michael Butler. During the show's 5-week run in Chicago, the goal of HAIR is to raise funds for Chicago House, Horizons Community Services, and Howard Brown Medical Center, which are dedicated to the musical's message of celebrating and 'being-in' life. 100% of the proceeds from HAIR's OPENING NIGHT/WILD HAIR SHOW and HAIR:A CABARET will be split equally between the three organizations.

HAIR's OPENING NIGHT performance, August 2, at The New Athenaeum Theatre is followed by a WILD HAIR SHOW and party held at Galleria Marchetti. After the performance the Rueve on Dearborn Salon, Mario Tricoci, and Marianne Stokirk salons each present a show inspired by the free-spirited, expressive fashion of the 60s with big, 'anything's possible' hairstyles and retro clothes.

On August 19, at The New Athenaeum Theatre, the HAIR cast and local cabaret talents, including Miss Mod Memphis, present HAIR: A CABARET, a kitsch variety of eclectic, bold talent.

Throughout HAIR's five week run at the New Athenaeum Theatre, July 30 thru September 1, "A HAIR RAISING EXPERIENCE will continue as Michael Butler will donate 20% of each ticket sale when "A HAIR RAISING EXPERIENCE" is mentioned when ordering HAIR tickets from Ticketmaster or the box office for any HAIR performance. The proceeds will be split equally among the organizations.

This summer's HAIR revival keeps HAIR's original 1968 message of the "great awakening" in its efforts to raise AIDS awareness with peace, love and life.
