Echoes of the End of the Raj – NYTimes.com
An echo which reverberates constantly in the message it gives to Americans. Oh, would that this history be taken seriously. Such happenings were not the first nor will they be the last. mbPosted by Michael Butler, Monday, April 23, 2012
U.S. to Pay $1 Billion Settlement to Indian Tribes – NYTimes.com
This is a pittance of what is involved in all the outstanding lawsuits. We just are facing what the BIA mismanaged or what was stolen. No mention as the centuries of genocide committed against the Native Americans by immigrants to America. BIA was the job I wanted if I had gone to the JFK White House. mbPosted by Michael Butler, Sunday, April 15, 2012
Profiting Off Nixon’s Vietnam ‘Treason’ | Consortiumnews

LBJ’s ‘X’ File on Nixon’s ‘Treason’ | Consortiumnews
You probably will find it difficult to believe that such dirty tricks really existed. Well they did. Nixon was a past master at such. His presidency was the beginning of America's downward spiral. Power corrupts. You see what can be done to achieve power. What I will never understood is why Johnson followed his advisors? Why did he not expose Nixon? And my Mother used to say, "Why are so many after poor Mr. Nixon? If she, and her friends, only knew. mbPosted by Michael Butler, Wednesday, March 7, 2012
Christian Jihad
Very interesting study on the more violent aspects of Christian writings. Ample evidence of all possible interpretations which taken literally could permit almost any unspeakable acts of murder, mayhem and genocide. One must wonder how those ancients could have been so violent. Of course the numbers were a lot smaller. Combat was more personal. They did not have drones. mbPosted by Michael Butler, Sunday, February 19, 2012
Dear Ronald Reagan: Thanks for Wrecking America
Nixon's election was the beginning of the downward spiral of America. Sociopath that he was. However the master disaster for this country was Ronald Reagan. He really took us down the garden path, charming all the way. mbPosted by Michael Butler, Sunday, February 12, 2012
FOCUS: George Soros on the Coming US Class War
I know, most feel it cannot happen here. Many dismiss the warnings of someone who has been through such travail. Soros has had such experience. He is enough of a historian to be able to read the signs from the past. We are on the edge of a slippery slope. If activism leads to violence, the 1% control the enforcers. Progressives will lose due to the support of the uneducated of the Reds. Recall the extreme violence of the Civil War. mbPosted by Michael Butler, Sunday, February 5, 2012

The Big Lie – Wall Street has destroyed the wonder that was America. – The Daily Beast
How can this be turned around? It seems as if all the forces are against us. All the arms of government are owned the forces of evil-of greed which have dominated our past, now present. They want to dominate our future. How can we prevent this without violence? That is the challenge. mbPosted by Michael Butler, Tuesday, January 24, 2012
EcoMind: Changing the Way We Think, to Create the World We Want
As we enter a new year, what do I think? I don't cotton to the Mayan calendar which gives us about 11 months. I know that we are in deep trouble. Difficult to even start to list all the heavy stuff coming down. For sure I know we have to make some changes. They are changes of great promise. Changes to make our world, all our worlds, a better place to live. I know a few things. First, we must stop being in the Business of War. War is Us. Second, we must stop over consuming our planet. We are going have nothing except a shell over all the extraction going on. Third, the world cannot continue to support the population growth. I know the corporations want more customers and the religious want more souls. How can such crowding of space and resources make us happy. I am happy because I believe in the here and now. But the majority of our world is not happy. That is why we need to change the way we think. mbPosted by Michael Butler, Friday, January 13, 2012
New Confederacy Rising — In These Times
Points to make you think: not equality of opportunity; individual freedom of interference from religious groups; corporate control; tribal feelings; militaristic attitudes; racism; 'P.D.' premillennial dispensation; spiritual warfare; solid, fixed, divine; knowledge and science; 'truth telling'; simple faith. "There is hope for America. It lies in heaven, and we will find it on our knees", Rick Perry. Astonishing numbers of people want to separate and move to the other side, be it blue or red .Posted by Michael Butler, Thursday, December 29, 2011
The Book of Jobs: “A Banking System is Supposed to Serve Society, Not the Other Way Around” | Common Dreams | Joseph Stiglitz
This article is so important it has now been posted twice. I fear we may go to war again. The rational behind the scenes will be to stimulate the economy through supporting jobs in the corporate Merchants of Death. So we go war to save our economy. That will not work. The best chance is if we borrow heavily at the current low rates to stimulate education and infrastructure. We cannot go back to the period of Hunter/Gatherers. It is gone as are the other cycles. Now we to have to create. Creativity is what America is great for. Now is the time for change. Take the historical lessons, know our history-the world's history, and act upon tem. This is a very exciting time. Let us take the high road. mbPosted by Michael Butler, Sunday, December 25, 2011
The Vitamin Which Can Cut Your Flu Risk Nearly in Half
GOOD NEWS1 There is a way to significantly reduce susceptibility to the flu and it is healthy for you, ie non toxic, and easy to use. It is not sponsored by big pharma so you may not see this news elsewhere. There is no doubt Vitamin D will work to prevent the flu dramatically better than the flu vaccine. Interesting new statistics, and ideas about how to stay well in flu season. The shocker [not] flu vaccination is not one of them.....bill altmillerPosted by Michael Butler, Friday, December 16, 2011
Global Rebellion: The Coming Chaos? | Common Dreams
I think what we have here is a 'globalization of awareness' . Humanity has reached a near point-of-no-return. It may be we are beyond that point. Let us try to be optimistic and posit that there are some chances for change. We had a burst of hope with Barak Obama's promise. That hope has pretty well disappeared due to the gravity of our problems, his dependence on who were picked to guide him. The financial rape of the world's economy, the plundering of our planets resources and the growth of fascism have thrown humanity into such disarray that the most unsophisticated recognize something is wrong. This awareness, coupled with rapid communication of the internet, have created common concern. Bit by bit we are seeing, in varying degrees, approaches to revolution. Let us pray for non-violence, evolution instead of revolution. For America, with our attitudes and history of violence this does not bode well. Progressive causes will be lost for fear of lack of security. mbPosted by Michael Butler, Sunday, December 11, 2011
